Finance Assistant
The Finance Assistant will support in the provision of financial services, and form part of a successful team committed to the provision of a worldwide quality EQA and proficiency testing delivery.

Employment Type: Permanent – Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
LabXCell is a not for profit organisation which operates UK NEQAS Cellular Pathology Technique (CPT), a global leader in Quality Assurance Service provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity as Finance Assistant to play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting essential projects, and contributing to the continued success of the organisation.
In this role you'll work within the finance team, assisting with financial processes including reconciliations, reporting, and system improvements. You’ll also contribute to wider finance-related initiatives and help ensure smooth, efficient operations across the board.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and P&L.
• Manage invoicing, income requests, and conduct debtor reviews.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and various financial reports.
• Maintain accurate bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and manage credit card transactions.
• Contribute to budget and income reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Assist in rolling out new projects with financial input.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles – AAT / ILM Level 2 / NVQ 3 or equivalent in financial management.
• Experience using Xero or equivalent (essential).
• Solid Excel skills and familiarity with Office 365 tools (Word, Teams, SharePoint).
• High attention to detail and excellent time management.
• Strong communication and teamworking skills.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience in planning and managing budgets.
• Involvement in finance system improvements or project work.
• Understanding of payroll processes and financial reporting.

Requirements:
- BSc in Biomedical Sciences and;
- IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent.
- Professional Registration.
- 5 years post graduate specialist training.
- Extensive in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of Cellular Pathology.
- Substantial practical experience in carrying out Cellular Pathology staining techniques, their technical interpretation, and appropriate modifications.
