This interpretive Scheme promotes quality, excellence, and education for all involved in screening and reporting Diagnostic Cytopathology fluids for crystal analysis. The Scheme provides superior, outstanding, representative digital cytological examples to enable enhanced individual and professional feedback to support and improve Continuing Professional Development (CPD), education, and excellence in practice.

Rationale

Digitised Diagnostic Cytopathology case studies utilising Papanicolaou and Romanowsky stained preparation. Each digital image represents a suitable, appropriate, routine preparation technique that effectively demonstrates the staining methods and subsequent diagnosis. These include those prepared using direct smears, cytospins, and liquid based methodologies. Participants can categorise images using a benign or malignant diagnosis, with an option to provide a specific diagnosis to the reporting system.

Circulation

Each circulation comprises 14 cases of digitised images of stained Diagnostic Cytopathology slides: 12 cases scored for individual assessment, and 2 un-scored cases for education and learning. Case study specimens include respiratory, serous fluids, urine, and head and neck.
