This Scheme assesses archival surgical stained sections, using 5 routine renal staining methods. A suitable biopsy must include renal cortex to ensure demonstration of glomerular basement membranes for appropriate and specific assessment purposes.

Rationale

Participants are asked to submit diagnostic slides from a suitable native renal biopsy, which has been recently processed in the laboratory organisation. Participants must not cut / recut slides specifically for EQA submission, and must be a true representation of that case, and of the quality performed as part of routine daily workload.

Submission

5 archival specialist stained sections containing material from a suitable native renal biopsy from the date designated on the delivery letter issued with each run.
