This Scheme assesses specialist methods through the distribution of known target material, on a rotational basis as listed above. 2 unstained sections are provided to each participant for A & B, as designated on the accompanying delivery letter issued with each assessment run.

Rationale

If a method is not specified, the laboratory / organisation is free to use any suitable technique to demonstrate the target. Intermittently unstained sections are provided to each participant for staining by H&E, to allow assessment of participants staining only.

Submission

One of each A and B specialist stain is submitted for peer assessment per run.
